The Digital Signage project started in October 2021 and Onitio was assigned by Kesko Corporation to install approx. 15.000 DS screens in +1200 Kesko grocery stores throughout Finland. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of December 2022. However, Onitio will also provide Kesko with nationwide maintenance and service after the installation project is completed. In the event of problems and possible equipment breakdowns, shops will receive assistance quickly.

“A great number of digital displays will be installed in stores nationwide. The project involves several different work phases. Personnel have been recruited and trained in order to conduct such a large-scale installation to be carried out efficiently and with high quality”, comments our Sales and Project Coordinator Henri Gornischeff.

Our role in The Digital Signage project
Due to the large scale of the project Onitio needed to establish six completely new installation teams for the project. All teams needed to be trained for different type of installations required by the Kesko Digital Signage concept. More than 30 dedicated resources are working on the project.

Onitio is a key partner in the project with the responsibility for the in-store design, installation of screens, coordinating of the collaboration between equipment and mounting suppliers as well as logistics, ensuring that the agreed schedule is met.

“The project requires close coordination. Teamwork and seamless communication between everyone involved is especially important. There must be a readiness to change plans and resources and to react quickly to sudden changes in the situation, such as sick leave or supply problems. Global device availability has made the project challenging, but the progress of the project has been secured. Cooperation with store owners has worked well and installers are given peace of mind”, says Henri Gornischeff, Sales & Contract Coordintor Onitio OY.

Project Manager Johanna Väänänen from Kesko:
“The start of the project was very challenging for all actors due to the problems of global equipment availability. Through close cooperation, we were able to solve the problems. Onitio's design and installation teams across Finland have had an excellent understanding of Kesko's state of mind. Now I look forward to the progress of the distribution project".

CEO of Onitio Pete Brusi:
“We are proud to be involved in supporting the introduction of Kesko's new concept. The strengths of both companies have been well harnessed for this project”.
