Onitio and Omnium partner to give retailers one point of contact for store technology

We’ve partnered with Omnium so that retailers in Norway and across the Nordics can get everything from POS software to a fully running store from one place. Omnium provides the platform; we handle the hardware, integration, rollout, operations, and support.

For most retailers, the software itself isn’t the hard part. The trouble starts where the pieces meet: one supplier looks after the application, another the hardware, a third the network, and often a fourth does the installation. So when a till goes down on a Saturday morning, time that should go to fixing it is spent working out whose problem it is.

This partnership is designed to solve that. Onitio is the customer’s single operational contact, and together with Omnium we have agreed how support, escalation, and incidents are handled. This partnership is designed to solve that. Onitio is the customer’s single operational contact, and together with Omnium we have agreed how support, escalation, and incidents are handled. The customer makes one call, and Onitio takes care of all of it.

“Retailers should be free to choose the technology that fits their business without also having to make every part work together. That’s our responsibility. Omnium has built a platform we believe in, and we bring the in-store equipment and the people and processes to run it, from rollout through its whole lifecycle,” says Ivo Ølstørn, Director Product & Services at Onitio.

In practice, that means we can deliver:

  • Hardware and peripherals set up for Omnium’s POS application and InStore App
  • In-store installation and rollout, from pilot to a controlled go-live
  • Operations, monitoring, and support with an agreed response time
  • Integration with other in-store and back-office systems

“A good platform only does its job if it works in every store, every day. Onitio is prepared to take responsibility for the whole POS operation in store, not just part of it. That means we can offer our Omnichannel Commerce platform to more retailers, including chains we couldn’t support on our own,” says Andreas Sjölund, CRO at Omnium.

The agreement is part of Onitio’s plan to take on a larger role as an independent integration and service partner in retail. We are not tied to a single platform provider. The customer chooses the solution, and we make it work in daily operation.

The first phase of this partnership covers Omnium’s POS application and InStore App, with the aim of expanding over time.
