A strategic agreement of up to eight years covering HPE Networking solutions, installation and project management for NorgesGruppen’s around 1,800 grocery stores, its convenience stores, ASKO and associated companies.

From the checkout lanes at MENY, KIWI and Kjøpmannshuset to ASKO’s warehouses and logistics operations, NorgesGruppen’s network solution will be supplied, installed and managed by Onitio under a new framework agreement. The agreement covers NorgesGruppen’s around 1,800 grocery stores, as well as all companies across the group’s retail and wholesale business. It runs for five years, with three one-year options to extend, and includes HPE Networking software and licences, hardware, installation, project management and lifecycle services.

"NorgesGruppen has been a great customer of ours for more than 20 years, and we know their storeswell,” says Dennis Hedö, Managing Director at Onitio. "Every payment terminal and self-checkout in themdepends on the network. Together with HPE Networking, we’ll give them one network across the whole group that supports their plans for innovation and growth."

Onitio won the agreement after a thorough and extensive tendering process, in a strategic co-operation with HPE Networking and ALSO as a distributor. The agreement adds network infrastructure to what Onitio already delivers for NorgesGruppen, and further strengthens the long-standing collaboration between the two companies.

Built on HPE Networking technology, the solution gives NorgesGruppen one standardised, centrally managed network, combining SD-WAN, network segmentation and automated monitoring. This is intended to improve operational efficiency and security, and to give the group more flexibility for future digital initiatives.
