Gjermund Eide is a retired military officer with more than 40 years of service in the Norwegian Armed Forces.

For ten years, he served as military adviser to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, covering Stoltenberg’s entire tenure as the Alliance’s top leader.

He has also acted as military adviser to both the Norwegian Minister of Defence and the Chief of Defence, and served as Contingent Commander of Norwegian forces in Afghanistan.

Eide is educated at the Norwegian Military Academy, the Försvarshögskolan in Stockholm, and holds a master’s degree from the National War College in Washington, D.C.

Today, he is a Senior Advisor at the PR agency Kruse Larsen.

Mark’s exploration of the global retail landscape helps retailers gain a focus on what’s real and what works when building a visionary retail strategy in a digital world.

Mark explores technologies from RFID to robotics and smart carts to AI and looks to determine which trends are hype and which are reality.

As Director of Retail Industry Solutions at Zebra Technologies, Mark works closely with retailers and hospitality businesses to provide input on how to face the challenge of a new digital retail landscape, where customers are often more connected and informed than shop floor staff.Mark helps retailers focus on developing a vision for their retail business that aims to improve customer experience whilst at the same time drive business efficiencies.
